The Big Red finally score on fifth pp chance as The Answer posts his third straight shutout.

The WCHU feed says that his 202:28 is the third longest shutout streak... In Cornell history.

The other two? Ben Scrivens.

This games makes me nervous. Niagara has a good squad and has had some decent results -- split with Colgate (winning at Starr), tied RIT at Ritter, and tied Union. It'll be a good test.

"high school, college, and UCLA."

Maybe someone who's good with video can do something with this. Then again, here's the Title 9 version.

However, I think it's not "Niagara," but "Niagara Falls." Or, it could be Martha or Katie. Another version with Errol Flynn here.

I don't know. I was at work. I wanted to read about hockey. All the forums with "X new" were really old or about the forum itself.

So I started something.

That makes me feel fuzzier than a +1.

Anyways, ithacat pointed out that Niagara is no patsy... but if we win, we're walking into MSG with a heck of a streak.

CHN has a nice little "compare" function. Coupla things:

(1) I can't remember the last time we played an NC opponent and had bigger numbers in Leading Scorers.

(2) Niagara has four goalies with one loss each, and they all have first names starting with "C": Cody, Colby, Chris and Carsen.

Very sloppy first period. Most of the players looked tired. Ferlin is still looking strong, and so are a few others. This team can't score unless everyone is firing on all cylinders.

Niagara's two-man forecheck gave us fits after their time-out. Same thing Q did to dominate the first period Saturday night. If BU does that it could be a long night at the Garden.

It'll be long anyway. TV timeouts. I don't imagine New England Comcast carries MSG does it?

After being 4-0 down, as well. Yale lost at Sacred Heart 7-6, despite only facing 19 shots.

Crazy night in the ECAC, we definitely looked tired out there. Then again, there's probably no more appropriate way to win #500 in Lynah than a 1-0 shutout.

IMO, MVP of tonight's game:

Iles
D'Agostino
Ferlin

D looked good, both on even strength and PK, and that was the only reason we kept Niagara at bay. Niagara was obviously less skilled, which gave us a lot of chances in mid-ice, although we couldn't capitalize in the first two periods.

Too bad about Yale and Brown, this is gonna hurt our PWR a bit. Hopefully it wouldn't be that big of a deal if we beat B.U. or split C.C.

So what do you think the practice schedule is? I'd guess nothing tomorrow or Thursday, something in Ithaca on Friday, and something at the Garden to get used to it on Saturday. Two practices might help, but I doubt that's enough to solve the problem. Then again, Mike probably began addressing it on Monday.

As amusing as it is seeing these kinds of results, it is not a good thing for the league. Yale losing to a winless Sacred Heart team is embarrassing.

Overall, maybe, but Iles bailed them out on a couple of nasty breakaways within minutes of each other in the 2nd. Not exactly smart defensive hockey.

At the very least, Hahvahd beating UNH should mitigate some of the PWR damage.

As pathetic as the Yale outcome is the game attendance: 754 people in an arena with a 10,000 person capacity. Yeah, it's a Tuesday night in Bridgeport, but come on.

That's still more fans than Yale brought to Atlantic City last March.

Either that or they realized they were playing Harvard and spent Monday night at their version of "The Creeker" (Fall Creek House for those of you under 50) as Yale obviously did in preparing for Sacred Heart.drunk

Harvard tied Dartmouth in Hanover tonight; have to think that counts as a point kicked away by the Big Green in both the ECAC and Ivies.

Princeton down 0-2 at Denver after 1, but that would have been asking too much. ;)

Edit: Actually, Princeton down 0-2 at Denver after 9 minutes...
