Hey, as a recent alum in philly, I am wondering how to get a hold of princeton tickets. I remember that they were trouble last year.

I would guess that tickets are not yet available. But they could probably tell you when they go on sale.

Last year was the only year in the past 4 where tickets have been popular there, most likely due to the success of their team, that being said I ended up giving away some extras I had before the game and they were selling standing room tickets through at least the first period.

I always used to get tickets from the Cornell box office directly, although you can certainly get them from Princeton as well, like Keith said. Either way the tickets most likely won't get sent until the weeks before the game and you shouldn't have any trouble getting a seat.

If last year's Ivy League Champion Princeton Tigers couldn't dry up the SRO allocation, what are the odds when the team reverts to the norm?

Also, if you buy an SRO ticket, you only have to stand if you want to. There are always seats available and (unlike Yale) there are no ushers policing the seating. (To be clear: there may be ushers at Baker (though I've never seen them) but even if they exist, they don't stop SRO ticket holders from sitting down.)

A couple games with SRO I've sat 2-3 rows behind the Cornell bench. Princeton is a great place to be a visiting team's fans: great places to eat in town, picturesque rink, decent sight lines so long as you're not next to one of the rafters, and it's a guaranteed win every time you play there. Okay, three out of four in any given year.

2-3 years back, Hillel conned me into buying a batch of tickets for the Cornell Club of Philadelphia by pretending to be a longime loyal NJ resident fan and the result was that bloc got to sit in the balcony next to the Princeton band or something equally unappealing. Good intentions but all for naught. I think I got a free seat out of the deal, or a parking pass for the Cornell-Duke game in Philadelphia later that spring, so it sort of worked out.

I have a couple Princeton faculty friends (well, one) who are hockey fans and/or team advisors. The rink is exciting twice a year, when Harvard plays and when Conell plays. Rest of the time, it's a good place to study without loud noises or interruptions.
