Grady did an AHL preview on the XM/Sirius Home Ice station last weekend. I don't know whether he is going to be their weekly AHL reporter or whether it was a one-off.
For the youngins, Grady was the Cornell play-by-play announcer during the 1980's and is one of the best at any level. It would be a pleasure to hear him do games for an NHL team someday (Islanders, maybe? Please?)

and through the 90s and into the 00s. His goal calls used to knock out the audio feed on the early days of LynahCam.

I am pretty sure it was Grady who did the call for the Feb, 2002 game vs. Yale when Cornell broke a 2-2 tie with 14 seconds left in the game. I remember that by the time I finally stopped celebrating I was two rows down and many seats over from where I had started. I listened to the radio high light later that night of the goal and it was something along the lines of, "Paolini holds, shot, HE SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORES! SAM PAOLINI SCORES...AND THERE'S PANDEMONIUM IN THE STANDS AND PANDEMONIUM ON THE CORNELL BENCH!" I must have replayed that clip 100 times that night.

I'm remembering (or creating a memory?) that Grady was pretty excited about Manderville's game tying goal versus Michigan in game 1 of the 3 game NCAA first round series in 1991. Grady was a great announcer for Cornell.

Um, yes. I have that on magnetic tape and I swear the portion with the call is discolored.RatushnyFan

And of course, he was immortalized on the original Live at Lynah CD (recorded in 1997) with his call(s) during "The Comeback." "Auger wins the draw... Dailey down the slot... shoot HE SCORES!!!", followed by his, um, critique of our, well, holding. My favorite moments were actually "The net to our empty is left" and his complete shock at the go-ahead goal.
