Cornell 63, Harvard 62

Finally, the Big Red pulls off a league win - and against a first division team (and Harvard to boot!). I am rooting for Yale to break the stranglehold the P schools have had on the Ivy title.

Is K'aron Barnes hurt? Has he left the team? Or is he just riding the pine?

I had the same queston, Rich. From yesterday's Ithaca Journal: "The Big Red had to juggle its line up after starting guard Ka'Ron Barnes broke a bone in his left hand during practice on Tuesday."

Tough break--literally. He apparently is a good one--good kid, too.

Although the injury is disappointing, I had been concerned that perhaps he had jumped ship due to the losing. He's apparently a talented kid, and I hope in a year, or perhaps two, Barnes will be part of a winner. Given the number of Freshman getting big minutes, it looks like there is some hope down the road.

I had the same concern. The loss of Vandenberg--expected to be the top "big man" even though a frosh--to an earlier injury didn't help.

I hope Donahue can hold things together until the young 'uns get more experience. I think Jake Rohe already jumped ship.

As a sidenote, the Pep Band was displaced by a Middle/High school band at the basketball game. Nothing like working hard to arrange for a split band between hockey and basketball only to be told we can't play because they'd hired someone else... way to support the home team band.

Yikes, that IS young. I don't follow hoops of any stripe -- what's the story? New coach with a full housecleaning? Or is Ivy hoops like women's hockey -- tons of frosh because when the students get serious about their degrees they drop out of sports?
