Was he the one who staggered off the ice on the first shift after he got blindsided with a cheapshot? I never quite got the number of the player.

We're getting really thin on D. I wonder if any forward is decently capable of dropping back in an emergency.

Looks like Yes and Yes. From today's Ithaca Journal:

"It never seemed like we could recover and get any kind of continuity back on the blue line (after Krueger's injury)," Schafer said, adding that the team was close to dressing a forward on defense Saturday if Davenport couldn't play. "We had a little bit of time to prepare for it today. It was a little bit better. And Taylor came back and had a strong game."

Schafer said Krueger "should be fine" to return to practice today.

The hit on Justin Krueger was by Chris Cahill #24 (Jr. 5-11 185).
