Grrrr, DirecTV just blacked out OT because it thinks a T'wolves/Sonics game is starting.
EDIT: DirecTV sobered up thankfully.

UVM 1 vs. NE 0
Just got back from the game. I don't know how UVM gets credit for supposedly being a rowdy place to watch a game:
Other than occasional chants from the student section (which seems to consist of only one section at the end of the arena even when I have been there for non-spring break games) the fans only cheered after the goal and a couple of other key plays. They finally stood, cheered loudly and chanted "UVM, UVM..." with 40 sec. left in the game. Many fans even started leaving over the last few minutes of the game!
They do have a band, but the sound is miked though the soundsystem. Even more bizarre, the band alternates breaks with piped in music in their own building.
Sorry about the rant, but the quiet atmosphere despite the usual sellout and the 1st time UVM has hosted a Hockey East playoff game (1-0 win a that) was frustrating to experience. It made me wonder if we are really that spoiled at Lynah, or are most rinks this dead. It's scary to think, but maybe most are even worse since UVM does always sell out and it is considered a good place to watch a game on most of the hockey websites I have seen. SLU and Clarkson are far better than Gutterson IMHO. Especially SLU, since most of Clarkson's noise comes only from the students on the end and SLU covers a larger percentage of the rink.

The final score for the Minnesota - Minnesota State game will be 1-0.
Almost as certain, the game winning goal will NOT be a special teams goal.
Wild 1st OT, several good chances and many non-calls. The refs seemed to have left the whistles in the locker room.
2nd OT coming up.
Wow, a penalty with 3:19 left in the 2nd OT. In this game you can hook, mug, tackle, but gosh darn it, don't get caught with an extra player on the ice.
Gopher power play.
Edit/Update:
Good thing I said "Almost certain", otherwise I'd be eating some crow or trying to get my foot out of my mouth.
Minnesota State wins on a SHG!
A most fitting result considering the Gophers were doing most of the hooking, mugging and tackling.
