No surprise that the Union loss dropped Cornell in the INCH rankings. They also ranked;
Quinnipiac #12
Clarkson #14
Princeton #17
I think the Princeton ranking is reasonable, given their recent success. I'm a little skeptical about Quinnipiac, given the loss of Vetri.
I believe the Big Red can pick up 4 points next weekend at Lynah, but they are really going to have to play hard. Clarkson has had it's ups and downs recently, but they are probably still the best team in the ECAC. BTW, Zalewski had a hat trick against Harvard.

I'll be going to the Sunday game hopefully, if I can get a ticket. It'll be the first regular season game coming without an entire cadre of Clarkson fans sitting next to me (unless I get lucky and find an open seat in O.)
Clarkson's played well against skating teams, for the most part, and fared worse against teams that are more defense focused. The bounces don't seem to be falling in our favor, and for some reason we've reverted to two years ago and are stinking it up on the road. I'd love to see us win at Lynah for the first time (regular season) since I started at CU, but I just don't see it happening this time.
Offensive production, sure it's nice to say that Zalewski had his second hat trick of the year last weekend, but all that says to me is he's one of the only ones putting in a consistently solid effort around the net. Steve has 12 goals (last I checked), and most of them, the ones I saw anyway, are hard work goals, rebounds, taking advantage of odd man breaks by moving off the puck, stuff like that. Everyone else seems to be hitting posts, not getting in for the dirty goals, trying to be fancy and losing the puck at the last second. It seems more of an individual effort from more players this year compared to last.
Cornell on the other hand, from what I've read anyway, is going back to the old-school Schafer hockey? Defense first, opportunistic offense that capitalizes on special teams? I haven't had the opportunity to read much on the Red, but it sounds like Scrivens is having his breakout season and will be starting for the rest of the year barring injury, right?

St. Lawrence has been inconsistent this year. They've lost to Wayne St. and Vermont. But, they've beaten Clarkson twice and won their last 3 in a row, including a 6-5 win over UNH. This week, USCHO ranked them on a par with Cornell. However, given that the game is at Lynah, I think Cornell should be considered the favorite.

Let's go Red!
