Visiting fan here, I root for Cornell by association - great traditions ya got, great spirit, tough game last night. (For the record, I was yelling Let's Go Red louder than my Cornellian gf but I could only stand politely during the alma mater. Swaying reminds me too much of a certain maroon team from a train depot. But anyway...)
I've only seen CU games on the road - last night was the first time I've seen a skating mascot. Very nice touch. But no one around me knew if the mascot had a name. A search of this forum says that Playboy claimed the mascot was named Big Red, but many of y'all didn't seem to like that.
So does the mascot have a name? Ezra? Corny? Cornelius? Puck?

The bear's name is Touchdown. But nobody calls CU the Touchdowns, and I've never seen or heard him called by name except on CU's Web site.

I thought Touchdown was the live bear we used to use. I've always called the people in bear suits "the bears".

Oh, I thought all subsequent bears were also named Touchdown, in homage to that first one. You may be right, though.

The bear's name is "The Bear." When he's throwing stuff, like candy, at the fans, one simply calls "Bear!"
No name required.

Gotta love a bear named Bear. Kinda like Tarzan's friend named Boy, the scary movie named Scary Movie, and a Harvard grad I know named Dick.

Don't forget George of the Jungle's friend "Ape"

Are the skating bears back at Lynah or was this a one night stand?

They were on the Lynah ice for the Princeton game. Their performance featured such crowd-pleasing tricks as "now what do we do?" Almost as popular as the "trip over the red carpet when skating over to Rhett the Terrier" at MSG.
Seriously, someone needs to send them a list of tricks/skits that the old bears from the 90s used to do.

The bears have been at all the home games this year. It's nice to have them, but as Rich pointed out, they don't seem to have any skit ideas except mock fights with each other, falling down, etc.

That doesn't seem like a good idea, what with all the ice and the potential for colliding with the zamboni.BeeeejRichHmartyMOBalum

Well they have cabs with traction control and radar collision avoidance technology. Or at least they should.
Can the skating bears juggle?

To us purists, there should be one bear, not two.

But then how do you get the little bears of the future?

But don't check the girl bear. At least not without protective gear - you might damage her reproductive organs.

I know what we shouldn't name the bear, especially for that road game we'll be playing in Sudan.
