Andy McDonald (Ducks, 'Gate a decade ago) brought the Cup to Hamilton this past Saturday.

Fitting in with the discussion of routes to the NHL through the ECAC (and development issues in general):

Before heading to the village for his ceremony, McDonald explained why he took a detour to Hamilton on his way to his hometown of Strathroy, Ontario. He came to Colgate as a lightly regarded player - he was never drafted - and only through the support of the hockey program did he become a pro prospect.

"I feel that Colgate was a pretty big part of my development as a player," he said.

Cool. The Cup has now been to Lynah, Starr, and Gutterson (LeClair brought it when UVM was still in the ECAC). Any of our Clarkson friends know if Cole, Marchant, or Huskins brought it? Since Cole is from Oswego, one would imagine it would make sense to do a north country swing if he brought it home. Since the Boston hockey community is very interconnected, it wouldn't be a shock to find out that it visited Bright at some point. Someone else can make a joke about it being a long time since 1972, but good luck not making the Cornell hockey community depressed in the process.

Erik Cole to the 'Cup to the North Country during summer '06. I think it was at his summer home which is up there, not far from Potsdam but I'm not exactly sure where.

There were photos on the website for several months but not sure if the link is still up. I'll check.

Very cool to see the Cup has been in several places Upstate New York.

Exactly! But for those who aren't familiar with either Potsdam or that strange form of a contraction, I fixed the post.

Typing is clearly not my forte. :-}
