No surprise.
But, once upon a time wasn't the Lynah Renovation Plan to have a big foyer? What happened? Or did I imagine the whole thing?

I remember reading the same thing. Pretty sure it was a quote from Schafer saying how they ought to have a nice lobby/entrance to the building like they do in other places (Colgate? SLU?)
I think it's possible that this was part of the original plan but when they got around to drawing up the design it didn't work with the existing building and space. But I'm just speculating here.

Didn't they rename the hallway where all the vendors are positioned during games at about the same time the renovation was done? I don't know if that was the intention or not. The only place where enough room for a nice entrance could have fit was behind A, but what was built is not on the scale that you are mentioning.

They also talked about having the new hallways lined with photos, awards, etc. When I was there in January, the walls were bare.
Maybe they'll get to it during this off-season?

A grand entrance would be nice, but possibly confusing when you also have an entrance through another big building as well. Confusion for instance on where will-call tickets are located.

If you look at what has been done walking in from the ticket office, you should have some optimizum. Maybe that's what they meant, maybe the "student" entrance will be lined with hockey photos, awards, etc..Jeff Hopkins '82

I seem to remember reading something assinine like "the architect/designer thought it looked better without pictures" and that's why the walls were bare.
