Maine will have trouble making the NCAAs if they drop this game tonight.

UMass seems to have their number right now. This would be 4 straight wins over Maine in only 9 days, if they hold on tonight.

UMass seems to be running around at times. The shots totals for the periods have been mostly towards Maine, but they can't sneak one by Quick. UMass on the other hand seems to be capitalizing on all their quality chances.

UMass takes care of Maine 5-2, effectively ending Maine's season.

Now the ECAC's best shot at 2 in the NCAAs is SLU beating Clarkson (or anyone beating Clarkson for that matter) in the final. There is an outside shot that a Clarkson loss to Dartmouth, SLU win over QU, followed by a Dartmouth championship would get 3 teams in. SLU is on the bubble though, they need at least another win to stay safe.

UAA scored about 6 minutes into the OT to win 2-1. Game 3 tomorrow.

Top seeds are in trouble in the WCHA tournament. Denver is staring down the barrel of a sweep at the hands of Wisconsin. Not sure about the scores, but CC and SCSU both could be swept tonight as well.

SCSU beat UMD 3-2 in OT, thus forcing a game 3 in that series.

CC wins tonight to force game 3 with MTU tomorrow.

Wisconsin is up 2-1 on Denver in the 3rd. If Wisconsin hangs on to win, they advance to the Final Five play-in game on Thursday.

North Dakota wins their series to advance to the Final Five.

The Crimson women do have a habit of going into OT in Tourney games. I remember listening to the 2OT thriller v. UM-Duluth ( 2003 2OT).

Also from the Crimson women's web site, this is the second time this season that they have gone into OT this season (2OT v. BC in the 1st round of the Beanpot)

The largest crowd in history was the 5,167 who were on hand for the 2003 NCAA championship game between Harvard and Minnesota-Duluth in Duluth, Minn. ...
