Losing to Quinnipiac didn't affect Cornell's 12th place standing in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll - Nov. 20, 2006. (Maybe hockey has mulligans?) The Fighting Deer Ticks are at least on the also-got-votes list with 8.

No. Team Pts	WLT	Last wk	Wks top 15
1.	Minnesota 520 (34)	10-1-2	1	8
2.	Maine 453	8-2-1	2	8
3.	Miami (Ohio)	425	10-4-0	5	8
4.	Boston College	396	7-3-1	7	8
5.	Notre Dame	372	9-2-1	6	5
6.	Michigan State	360	6-3-1	4	8
7.	Michigan 319	9-3-0	8	8
8.	New Hampshire	277	7-2-1	10	8
9.	North Dakota	198	6-5-1	3	8
10.	Boston Univ	197	3-2-4	9	8
11.	Denver 192	7-4-1	11	7
12.	Cornell 132	6-2-0	12	7
13.	St. Cloud St.	79	4-3-3	15	3
14.	Massachusetts	77	6-1-1	14	1
T15	Dartmouth 18	5-3-0	NR	3
T15	Northern Mich.	18	7-6-2	NR	1
Also: Colorado College, 15; Yale University, 11; Quinnipiac University, 8; University of Alaska Anchorage, 6; Michigan Tech University, 5; University of Alaska, 4; Sacred Heart University, 2; St. Lawrence University, 1.

Note the Florida Hockey Classic has No. 2 Maine, No. 8 UNH, No. 12 Cornell, and No. Unranked Western Michigan (not No. 15 Northern Michigan). Last year Cornell got the unranked team in first round; this year we don't. Beating both UNH and Maine would look great in our out-of-conference comparisons. On the other hand ...

Congratulations to Cornell for... giving Q it's first spot in the top 20. (It is their first, right? I can't imagine that they were voted into the top 20 in 2002.)

They only did the top 15 in 2002. Quinnipiac was "18th" (under "Others receiving votes";) in the final 2001-02 USCHO poll.

I'm still waiting for the poll listing all teams. Why do we stop at 20? There aren't that many more teams to list.

We could do away with the polls altogether in the name of good sportsmanship declare that all teams are created equal....innocent

And this raises my question from the past week...was anyone else excited for a split second when they heard there was a movie called "Bâby" coming out? doh

Happy Thanksgiving!

Indeed!
