I thought it would be interesting to see what you guys think today's game's final score will be. There is a pattern going (wins the past three games of 4-1, 5-1, 6-1) so a 7-1 win would be cool.
I BLAME THE CHODE!!!

I'd like to see how Cornell Athletics would react to that.

Well, ok, maybe not. But very very nice goal for Wallace. First goal of the year. We have been pressuring them like crazy for the past 3-4 minutes. If we keep this up, hopefully we can sneak another one in.

I only had time to listen to the first period, but as I left I thought "They only score off of our mistakes. And this team won't make any more mistakes tonight. I'm not worried." Great game guys. On to Florida.

Just back in town after being there last night. So here are some impressions from someone who hadn't seen the team live since Estero '00, though I did watch all five televised tournament games we played last year. First, Paolini, Cook and Hynes all were out with injuries.
It was the first time I'd seen Lenny in goal, and he couldn't be faulted for either goal as both were on defensive giveaways that resulted in guys coming in all alone. We did seem to struggle somewhat clearing the puck in our own end after rebounds, and Lenny seemed to be using his body to block shots more than I expected. The first line Moulson-Vesce-Bâby looked great, particularly Vesce who won a lot of face-offs cleanly back to the defensemen. I was real impressed by the Abbott brothers, who were on a line with Hornby. They seemed quick, talented and played well together, generating a lot of chances. Any win is a good win, and the team showed plenty of heart coming back from the deficit and taking over the game.
While the rink seemed only 60-65% full, the WMU fans were active and into the game, albeit not necessarily in the best of taste. They were on the Cornell players after each penalty (e.g. chanting "Hornby swallows) and on the refs a lot, which is probably counter-productive. I thought the ref (Piotrowski) did a real good job. There was a fairly large Cornell contingent, we seemed to have 100-200 there, although the hardcore travelling Faithful group of about a dozen or so (JTW and others) were responsible for most of the noise on our side. The radio was right behind the WMU section, so I know that's probably all you heard on radio.
On a personal note, aside from the victory, I had a great time reminiscing about the good old days with Dick Bertrand.

It sounded like "You just suck" to me. (BTW, it was really nice to do the Black Hole and AhhhSEEYA! cheers in their classic forms; one of the advantages of only having about 10 people actively doing cheers.) Of course, there were plenty of "Fuck you Shegos" and "Fuck you Piotrowski" cheers, so the foul language does seem to be tolerated. Although they did turn up the piped-in music to try to drown out a "bullshit" chant.

I saw someone post on USCHO to tell you a bit about our cheers. I'll see if I can help out a bit...
Yes, after a goal, we count off, and do the whole thing that I believe everyone else does in college hockey. We do end with 'you just suck'. Every college team probably will claim that as their own anyways.
Whenever Bâby had the puck, we chanted 'Bitch'. We choose one guy each series that will be our bitch, and we chant that.
Sheegos and Pitrowski have routinely called very bad games at Lawson, so they do not get shown any mercy. Pitrowski reffing the playoff games last year against OSU was the WORST I've ever seen.
Indeed, we use a lot of profanity, and most probably, as noted on the USCHO boards, its probably out of lack of creativity.
Any other questions I'll be happy to answer. You guys have a really good team, keep it up!
