Any other alums want to get together for an informal dinner before the Clarkson game Saturday? I'm riding up with someone who'd rather work on sheetrock at his Ithaca place than cheer on the Big Red (sheesh) and my old Cornell girlfriend is going to be there, but in the company of her Clarkson husband. So I'm looking for alternatives.

Ideally, sit down 4 or 430 since the lacrosse game ends 3 to 3:30 and and Cornell-Clarkson warmups are 6 pm (I drove this far, I want to see it all). I'm thinking burgers / pizza / salad and one beer in case I'm driving back that night. It's not really when most people want to eat, but that works with when Cornell wants to face off.
One of the things I've really enjoyed about Cornell hockey is meeting random strangers at eLynah such as Al and Donna DeFlorio, getting to know them socially, and meeting a couple times a year for dinner at great places such as Pepe's (New Haven) or similar, then hockey. Sort of like Looking for Mr. Goodbar without the sex or downer ending.

Bill,
My fiancee, Jaime, and I would be up for an informal dinner at that time. I'll follow this thread for details.

a) Low blow. b) But yes that would explain a lot of things. Actually, her husband is upstanding, cultivated, a ballroom dancer of international repute, owns his own airplane ... and yet he's a Clarkson graduate. Obviously, he married above his station.Avash '05RichS?billhoward

If they're late to the game, we'll know why.

Jeff's play by play off eLynah took the place of the missing satellite feed at the Cornell night at the Phillies (Citzen's Bank) ballpark when the wind blew the dishes out of alignment during the Cornell - Harvard hockey game.

Suggestions for a place to eat late afternoon for about a half dozen persons before the game?

I'm partial to Souvlaki House. Or the Nines if you get there early enough and didn't go last night.

You might try Olivia out at East Hill (where Coyote Loco used to be) - $5 burgers from 4-6 pm. Hop, skip and a jump from there to Kite Hill parking lot.

We thought about Joe's, heard service could be leisurely, and settled on Nines. Thanks all for the comments.
