In honor of the burning questions we see at the end of Ari's column every week, I have come up with the idea of filling our void of cornell hockey for the next few weeks with some not so burning questions. Feel free to add yours to the list or answer any that are asked. I'll start us off:
1. Why did Dave mix and match his costumes when he wore them? I mean what is up with a white tux, red wig, and carrying a sherrif's badge as an accessory?
2. What is up with the ice at Lynah this year? Pucks are skipping over peoples sticks everywhere.
3. Doesn't anybody else think the Niagara Purple Eagles are offensive to America? Our national bird is not purple!

14. (Begging the pardon of the woofing gods, in advance.) If the system suddenly "clicks" and we roar through the second half of the season, will our less-than-stellar performance in the 1st half of the season result in our getting sent to a western regional?
15. Will I be standing outside the fieldhouse freezing my ass off at 5:00 on 1/21? Or will I manage to find tickets in advance?
16. Will <pause> CSTV <pause> fix <pause> the <pause> low <pause> bitrate <pause> stream <pause> before <pause> the <pause> next <pause> home <pause> game?

I'm not so sure... I think the woofing gods also look unkindly upon far-too-ridiculous speculation even when it's clear that it's speculation, e.g., Princeton fans even thinking about the possibility of going to the Frozen Four this year. It's not clear to me where the line is drawn.

I agree it might be worrisome if you were serious and really expected it to come to pass, even though you used "if". The Woofing Gods are all knowing. In the same way that they are not fooled by anti-woofing, they know that you are "asking" about something that you consider "far-too-ridiculuous".

from a Cornell Sun point of view, yes. If I remember correctly, The Sun used to do two "joke" issues a year, on the Fridays before Fall Weekend (maybe not in all years as I couldn't find the Fall '67 one in the archives) and Spring Weekend, which were the big party weekends on campus for the fraternities.
My favorite was Spring of '67 with an article entitled something like "Dryden to leave school and play for Canadiens." Back then, there were almost no college hockey players in the pros. The article included a petition urging Dryden to stay in school, with signatures including Rogatien Vachon, who Dryden would actually win the goalie job from several years later.
