As a reference to last weekend, I'm thinking of "U LOST TO Q!" for Harvard, but I dont know how many people would get it.

Edit: Dartmouth has a Lovejoy, a Swallow, and two Johnsons. Gotta be something we can do with that.

Bad idea. You really want to taunt the woofing gods in such an obvious way before we face Q ourselves? worry

Yeah, maybe a plain "Quinnipiac beat you!" sign is better; something like that works just stating it plainly, it dont need to snazz it up.

How about:

Visit Ithaca. Free Seafood.

or in a similar vein you could say

Lynah Rink - Seafood Capital of the ECAC
[although this could equally well be penned by a Harvard student with access to a spellchecker]

Pahk the Pucks in Hahvahd's Net

For cheers: If the current sieve does as he should and suffers back of the neck sunburn, try "We want Dov" followed by single loud voice, "You NEED Dov. You're both sieves."

Once Cornell rolls up the score, you could use a variation on the losing team, winning team cheer: "Grade Inflation. Goal Inflation."

Maybe we use the "U lost to Q" cheer after they taunt us with either the "Jump off a bridge" or "Hotel Management" cheer.

If it gets to the point where we are calling for a backup, why not a "where's your hyphen?" chant

Or seeing as how I'm more of a chant man, if by the grace of god they play simultaneously, a simple back-and-forth point and name "Swallow... Johnson.... Swallow.... Johnson... Swallow Johnson............................ Swallow, Swallow, Swallow!!!"

Well, if you just string a few more of their names together, you can get:

Lovejoy Bellows, Offers to Swallow Glass Johnsons

With the frequency of the long winded posts recently, I'm not convinced he has a day job ;-)

Stealing Greg's post from the "harvard sucks" thread,
you could just have a sign that says "harvard sucks, dartmouth swallows" and use it both nights.

If it were me, I would hesitate to chant "You lost to Q". We haven't played them yet and it's no guarantee that we'll beat 'em with ease...

But if you have to, why not go all the way to "Deerticks beat you!" Yes. none of the Harvard folks will have all clue what you're saying but it'll be a great inside joke. :-)

I think "Quinnipiac beat you" or such is perfectly fine. I wouldn't make it a regular thing at every game - cause then we're asking for it - but in an appropriate occasion for this one game, it's fine. After all, we *are* 1-0 against them, so we do have some basis for comparison.

[q]After all, we *are* 1-0 against them, so we do have some basis for comparison.[/q]No we're not. We tied them at Lynah, 2-2, on 6 Jan 2001. You're only remembering the tournament win (6-01, 23 Mar 2002) the following year.

Alright, well 1-0-1 is still better than 0-1 (as far as I can tell, Harvard never played QU before), and "Quinnipiac beat you" still applies.

So? All the more reason to do it now while it's still effective. Use it or lose it.

If we lose to Q, it's not as if we will have to endure Hahvahd fans parading around Lynah in February chanting "You lost to Q, too!" For that they'd have to have fans. At worst, we may feel silly if and when we lose to them. To me, it's worth the trade off.

I remember that as a very happy bday as well :-D
Actually, we've had quite a few good birthday celebrations in the last couple of years, like 2003 in Albany :-D
