Just trying to motivate him for next year, eh?

I'm only a sophomore, so I was wondering...who's Jan Pajerski and why wasn't he on the team either of the last 2 years?

Jan was a member of the class of 2005, who played for the first 3 years on the team, sporadically. He decided that it was in his best interest to concentrate on his studies this year, and thus, did not play any games nor was he listed in the programs. He was presented with his home jersey at last year's banquet, as he had made his decision prior to that evening to concentrate on his studies and not play hockey with his fellow classmates his final year.

Pajerski played a grand total of four games in his collegiate career, all of them in his junior season (2004). He probably didn't get very much ice time in those games. A case of someone who was dedicated enough to work hard and practice with the team for three years - and he was recognized for this at last year's banquet - but just not good enough to crack the lineup.

IIRC he was on the ice for that home Colgate game where a little scuffle erupted with seconds left. The team was really playing short already due to injury and the next night at 'Gate we played with an obscenely small number of players - definitely couldn't make four lines. Not really important to his career, but that's what I remember him for.

Vedder: Science of Earth Systems
Is that not a wonderful sight? Three of the guys above are starters.
