Cornell falls to BC and is now 0-3-2 on the road. Ithaca High loses their own tournament, and has lost three in a row (each by one goal). Lenny gives up 6 as Utah gets blanked by Manchester (Dustin Brown had a goal and an assist & I still get a tingle when I imagine him as a Sophmore for the Big Red...sigh).
Congratulations to David Grossman (Little Red goalie in both hockey & lacrosse). DG was named the Ithaca Journal's Male Athlete of the Year. 9 Cornell hockey players have won this award over the years, the last being Doug Murray. DG will be playing lacrosse at Cornell beginning next year.
lgr...beat Maine.

Cornell beats Maine & the IHS girls get another win.
Ithaca needs some new Welcome signs noting not just the championships of the IHS boys but also those of the IHS girls and Cornell's national ones. I'm not sure how many national titles the various youth programs have won?

Somewhat off-topic, but living in Connecticut, it's local for me. UConn's mens Hockey team got beaten so badly by Holy Cross last night, in UConn's holiday tournament, that the USCHO recap [www.uscho.com] didn't even do it justice. The Hartford Courant [www.ctnow.com] includes a more accurate description of HC's fourth goal:[Q]Brian Kolb was then credited with his first goal at 11:17 when the Huskies swept a pass into an empty net with a delayed penalty called.[/Q]Man, that's just embarrassing.
Ouch.

There's always basketball & football. I'd love to see a strong UConn hockey program, and I'd love to see Syracuse start one -- that could be a nice rivalry on the ice.
Also OT, it looks like UConn might keep Edsall. It looks like Syracuse is looking elsewhere, though I can't imagine he wouldn't be one of their 4 or 5 top choices -- former player and coach at 'Cuse, and his wife is from Rochester.

UConn - Holy Cross is only "kind of" off topic. I didn't see the box scores, but former Ithaca High School and Ithaca Youth Hockey Association players are on both teams - Chris Uber (the leading scorer on the 2000 IHS State Championship Team) for UConn, and Mark Bianchi (defenseman on that same 2000 state championship team) for Holy Cross.
