Here is a little scouting report / future outlook for Ryan O'Byrne that was written for Inside College Hockey's continuing series chronicling players for the upcoming series:

Hopefully, he takes a lot less penalties this year.

I thought he was taking a lot fewer penalties as the year goes on. Didn't he rack up a bunch of PIM in his first five games or so and then settle down?

Sounds like Schafer very happy with his progress.

I ran through Age's boxes quickly and did some tallies. I obviously missed two penalties 'cuz I come up with 67 minutes while the season stats show 71. But anyway... It looks like O'Byrne had penalties in only three of his last 11 games played (5 for 10 minutes). This is in contrast to penalties in 11 out of his first 15 games and 14 of 20.

Again, I definitely missed a couple, but it does look like O'Byrne was more disciplined (or at least less likely to be caught) as the season wore on.

Either way is good.
