kinda cool, McKee makes INCH's top players from non-hotbed areas. They have him as Mike McKee, though. Hopefully they'll fix it.

Too bad Doug Murray's not around anymore, he'd be a shoe-in for their All-European Team.

Two players on the non-hotbed team come from Maryland. I wonder how long it will take before the Washington DC area is removed from the non-hotbed list. Eleven years ago, the Ferraro brothers would have made the team. Now, Long Island is no longer considered to be a non-hotbed. I suspect ten years from now, the new generation of Jeff Halperns will no longer raise eyebrows because of their hometowns.

Not really related to the INCH thing, but at least it's McKee-related .
Just looked this up: McKee is the only goaltender in D-1 hockey to have played every single minute of his team's games this season. Next closest is Ferris State, whose backup's only minutes were the last 10:09 of an 8-0 loss to Michigan State earlier in the season.
Has there ever been a season at Cornell during which only one goaltender has played all year?
(Which somehow reminds me, here's a pretty decent article from the Cornell Hockey page about Todd Marr; it was written just prior to the Harvard/Brown home weekend : [cornellbigred.ocsn.com])

I don't recall anybody but Hayward playing in 78-79, but I could be wrong. To be honest, I don't even remember who the back-up was.

I'm guessing that's in NCAA minutes only, since Todd Marr played the first half of the game vs. the U.S. Under-18 Team.

I am pretty sure that my senior year Darren Eliot was the only goalie. There was a backup named Zygaj (or something like that) who only played part of an exhibition game.
I also think that was the year that the team was almost entirely Canadian - Zygaj may have been the only American.

Cornell goalies who played every minute of a season (not counting empty-net time):
John Detwiler, 1959-60
Laing Kennedy, 1960-61; 1961-62; 1962-63
Darren Eliot, 1982-83
Dave Zygaj, a junior from Cheektowaga, NY, was Eliot's backup. Americans on the 82-83 team who had playing time were senior defenseman Dave Chiappini from Framingham, MA (1 game), and senior forward Mark Gagnon, from Edina, MN (4 games). Sophomore forward Dave Cole, from Ogdensburg, NY (today, one of Adam Wodon's broadcast partners), and junior goalie Jeff Watts, from Saratoga Springs, NY, are also listed on the roster, but never had playing time.

Who played in goal in 78-79 besides Hayward?

Oops
But on a more positive note, maybe this means Ferris State's backup will finally get more playing time!

Just wondering, but who else has played for Brown this season?
Also, somewhat related, while checking out the box score (http://www.collegehockeystats.com/0304/boxes/mcordar1.f06), I noticed that Chabot wasn't on the roster. Anyone know why?

You're not looking at the roster, you're looking at the box score from the Dartmouth game, for which Chabot apparently wasn't dressed. Possibly he just didn't travel this weekend, but he is still on the roster, and was dressed as a third goalie for the Colgate games last weekend. No need to panic.

According to collegehockeystats.com, junior Scott Rowan has played in 2 games. In 74:47 of play, he has allowed 1 goal in 27 shots, for a save% of .963. For comparison, Danis has played in 21 games, 1269:58, allowing 33 goals in 655 attempts (.950 save%).
There is also someone with the dubious name of Open Net who has played 0:56 for Brown this season.

So does that mean if McKee is not well enough to dress, we only dress one goalie for the UVM game tonight?

I'm wondering if it was muscle cramps. After he left the game he remained on the bench (as opposed to the trainer's room). Also, noone saw any impact or other specific injury.
I'm hopeful that even if Marr starts, McKee will be available tonight.

That's been an issue before on the road.
I know it happened 2 years ago against Union when only Leneveu dressed, one night after Underhill had a "leg injury" (which was quite an interesting report, considering the ice pack on his lower back as he watched the game from the sidelines).

Not only did he make that start (his last of the 2001-2002 season, as it would turn out), but he had the primary assist on Sam Paolini's game-winning goal
