as of late silverthorn seems to be playing pretty well, i was thinking the faithful should make it a tough weekend for this guy

courtesy of the colgate website i've found the name of silvethorn's mom, and similar to yacey's cell phone last weekend, i figured we could spell that out

there are a number of responses to "what's that spell" and i was looking for some feedback

ideas right now are "sieve's mom" and "m.i.l.f." - the "m.i.l.f." could work because it could be repeated over and over much like sieve normally is...but i wasn't sure if that was too much even for lynah rink...any ideas

Great idea. What's the m.i.l.f.'s name?

You could sing something to the tune of "Billy Jean"...

Betty-Jean is that sieve's mother
She's just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the sieve is not my son!

is there any way the band could get on the music before friday night...that would be classic

but special thanks has to go to colgate for listing every player's mother's name

And what's more... Betty-Jean has a hyphen! nut

would a "mom hyphen mom" be a little too much...or even a "milf hyphen milf"

I think either could work as a response to "what's that spell" but not just randomly chanting it like we do against sieve-hyphen-sieve.

i like the "milf" response to it...i just wanted to make sure no one would think it was tasteless

Well, I'm sure there is SOMEONE who will think it's tasteless - works for me, though...

I'm that guy, if we are talking about milf. I like the Billy Jean parody. MILF is just inappropriate - and if the red jackets knew what it meant, it would probably be an ejectable offense.

There is a not-insignificant chance that she will be at the game. I got corrected by Rick Sacchetti's mom (Chelmsford, MA) once in New Haven. A friend was worried that the Yale band was being crude and "the player's mom might hear." I told her not to worry, no Cornell Moms were around because "all our players are from the sticks in Canada" (or something like that). Mrs. Sacchetti told me that I was wrong and told me that some parents made it to a lot of games.

that was my fear...so are there any suggestions for something other than "milf" because sieve's mom seems too long

This seems like one of those cases where the people who'd be offended won't get it. I mean, if the Yale band can play "Uncle Fucka"...

Thanks for the (indirect) compliment! Nice to be having a goalie playing so well that you guys are focusing on him more than usual. Actually, a fellow 'gate poster had this on uscho - since Colgate's win against Cornell last year, Silverthorn is 20-10-3, 2.06 GAA, and .923 save %. Hopefully your cheers won't rattle him much!

I thought Silverthorn was impressive even last year; he was decent at Lynah, but his performance the night before was really good, 31 saves on 32 shots in that 2-1 OT win....

Hey GoRaiders,

You are an excellent poster like that asshole from Dartmouth. You are always welcome at eLF.

Love,

Do you think a really big sign saying "Guy butts drive Colgate nuts" could get anyone kicked out?

Probably, but I also think it'd be worth it.

Um, not really...There's other threads besides this one dumbass. By the way, nice to see that the whole Hamilton retirement home came out to support you guys last night. Does Colgate still have students?

Go 'Gate,

I'm just as happy with the win as you, but there's no need to gloat on cornell's board, especially since there's another game tonight (i.e. no woofing!). If you're gonna gloat, save it for our boards.

OTOH, now that game 2 is over, you've got every right to gloat.
But I'd rather just see less woofing from OUR side before the games.

I was surprised the Colgate fans didn't anger the Hockey G-ds... they started chanting stuff like "scoreboard" in the middle of the 2nd period when it was only 1-0!

Actually, I think they started shaking the keys as early as just after the GWG. I seem to recall at least one guy doing that. Just for that, I hope Brown can exact revenge on Colgate in the postseason.
