There is a sidebar poll on McKee's Rookie of the Week page. I'm not surprised that Moulson has the most votes for the Most Underrated player. I don't understand why he was picked in the 9th round of last year's NHL draft, while Hynes was drafted in the 3rd. I think that both have the same chance of getting into the NHL. While Hynes definitelly has the benefit of his size, compared to Moulson, I think that Moulson is a little better overall. We'll see the stats as the season progresses.

Size is very important in the NHL draft. That alone explains a lot. There's also the question of NHL potential While Moulson may be a better college player than Hynes at this point (and I'm not expressing an opinion here), Hynes may project as a better pro player.
Besides, NHL draft position is a very imperfect metric of ability.

You're right, there were plenty of 1st rounders, including 1st overall picks that never really did anything in the NHL.

Not to mention that Moulson has had the advantage of playing on a line with Vesce.
