How could the head ref tonight, Murphy, not call a penelty wehn Gleed was slashed in the head. He left the ice bleeding and had to be attended to by the medic. I know that the ref could not appreciate being called a wife beater or a virgin, but come on, he should have called this.
I get the feeling that the refs are talking about the faithful and really dislike us. Personally, I don;t mind them haiting us, but they need to call these penelties.

Well, it doesn't help when we boo the refs when they come on the ice or start anti-ref chants when they don't call a penalty when an opposing player happens to sneeze in our ditection. All that stuff is completely counter-productive. We should only direct invective towards the refs when they miss a completely blatant call, especially when it has obvious implications for the outcome of the game, and that didn't happen tonight.
Also, I could've sworn that was Hynes that was on the receiving end of the cross-check, not Gleed, right?

Err, "direction", not "ditection".

Vesce got slashed when he was going to the bench and Murphy missed it. Coach was none to pleased. Murphy made some good calls and he missed some. I actually thought White was worse than Murphy tonight.

Yeah, Eagle Eyes Froboymitch would make a fine ref. It was Hynes.

Seconded. I saw more (of what I thought were) bad line calls last night than I'd seen in a long time.

I sit right next to the Cornell box, and it wasn't Hynes, it was Gleed. Apparently, Murphy has called consistently lopsided games against Cornell for a good 15 years now. Just mention his name to a towie hockey fan and they'll go balistic on you.

It was Gleed...he has two stitches on his chin and a cut in his mouth

Matter of opinion:
Who do you think is the worse ref, Murphy or Dell? Bonus points for creativity, and if you manage to bash Kotyra in your post your score is doubled.

Different incident. Thought you were referring to the time early in the game when Hynes was injured. Didn't see the Gleed one. My bad.

Murphy is definitely the worst ref in terms of calling one-sided games. The worst guy in general has got to be Hansen. He calls it right down the middle but the guy calls no penalties, so the games wind up looking like rugby on skates. I'd rather watch my team lose than watch the clutching, grabbing, and retaliating for clutching and grabbing that is a hallmark of a Hansen-reffed game.
