Is there any organized plan for Cornell ice hockey fans who plan to attend Cornell @ Yale game on November 7th

My block of 15 tickets is already gone. I'll post more info once I know what we are doing. Unfortunately, I'm TAing a lab until 4 in Storrs that afternoon, so timing might be a little tight.

At this point, I'm thinking 5 o'clock at the Bru Rm. @ Bar [www.niteimage.com]
Alternatively, c.o. jones is a little closer to the rink, but doesn't hold as many people. Moreover, it might be packed since they have 1/2 price Margaritas from 5-7.

I'll be cutting it too close to help, but maybe Micaela or Adam G. can collect people at the train station.

Ok, so the official unofficial plan is to take over the Brü Rm. @ Bar on Crown St at 5pm sharp. And no, they don't know we are coming.
Directions to Bar:
[www.niteimage.com]
Directions from Bar to the Whale:
- Northwest on CROWN ST toward YORK ST.
- RIGHT onto YORK ST.
- RIGHT onto ELM ST.
- Turn LEFT onto COLLEGE ST.
- Turn LEFT onto GROVE ST.
- Turn RIGHT onto PROSPECT ST.

Posted in the ticket exchange also (before people yell at me), but if anyone needs a ticket for this game (or knows someone that needs a ticket), email me. I have 1 extra in the Cornell Club section.

If someone said this elsewhere and I missed it, sorry. Does anyone know if buying tickets at the door usually works for Yale? Or would it be wise to try and get tickets in the small bit of advance that's left?

Cornell v. Yale is typically the 2nd toughest game to get tickets for (behind Harvard of course.) However, because this is the home opener and Yale lost their two stars, turnout might be low this year. You never know. I'd get one ahead of time if possible.
Anyway, Dan '01 has a spare ticket available on the Ticket Exchange. [elf.elynah.com]

Robin,
Yes, I'm heading down from Boston to Yale tomorrow, hopefully in time to meet everyone at Bru. If you need a ride, then you are more than welcome to join me.
One note: I will be heading down to NYC after the game, and then heading down to the Princeton game on Saturday. So I won't be able to give you a ride back to Boston. Perhaps there are others who are driving down to New Haven from Boston who can give you a ride back up?

I spoke with a guy from their ticket office today who said SRO tickets probably wouldn't be a problem. That said, if you can find a ticket in advance, it's always better.

What time are you leaving the Boston area? And what's a good working email address for ya? Thanks.

NY79->I81->I84->CT34
Takes about 4:05 if you don't hit traffic on 84 and 34.

From experience (lots and lots of experience), the time is pretty much exactly the same if you do
81->84
or
81->17->84
Maybe 5, 10 minutes difference. Skip 17 if you wanna drive faster, take 17 if you want the scenery or the Rosco Diner .
17 is often better around a holiday, when you can hit a moderate slowdown around Scranton.

(This is off-topic, but whatever.)
I would think 17 would be worse around a holiday, given that I think most people consider 17 the main artery between the downstate area and Central and Western NY. But, I really can't compare, because I always like to speed through Pennsylvania to get from Ithaca to NJ and back.

Might make sense in theory, but I have never seen something even vaguely resembling traffic on 17... not the weekend after Thanksgiving or anything... a busy day on 17 is when you have to make your way through a group of half a dozen to a dozen cars every 20 minutes .

I can't find one either. I tried hunting around the Yale website, but the radio station there has something else scheduled to be broadcast during the game. Anybody know of one?
