Well, it aint illegal -- they can do anything they want with their tickets, provided they don't bias sales against an ethnicity, race, or gender.
It is pathetic, though. They are effectively saying they would rather risk losing revenue with empty seats than have an assuredly full building, because they can't trust their own fans to buy tickets early enough.
Laughable. I assume that with the 4-game package each student also gets cum laude.
No, I forgot, that comes with the admissions letter.

Since that article says it... is there any chance the ticket office has some left? Or are they long sold out? All to 'special guests'? Haven't received them yet? What's the story?

I called a week or two ago, and they said their tickets were sold out, until I mentioned I was a CHA member. (30 of the 100 are set aside for CHA members.) I'd suspect they're all spoken for now.

[Q]It’s Harvard’s job to make sure it’s their fans who line the ice and keep the absurd “Harvard Sucks” and the even more bizarre “Safety School” chants to light background noise.[/Q]
Huh? Absurd? Bizarre? I don't see anything absurd or bizarre in telling them the awful truth.

So Rich,
You obviously missed the news that the administration at Harvard has acknowledged a problem with grade inflation and the awarding the distinction of Honors to an overwhelming majority of the graduates of that school in Cambridge (as my son would say).
Here is the background - from a quick Google search.
[query.nytimes.com]
"In October, The Boston Globe reported that nine in 10 Harvard students graduated with honors..."
So I really think that the remark from Greg is more in the realm of amusing and certainly not pathetic.
As for Harvard's tactic with their tickets I assume you approve of the Orioles doing the same thing to Yankee fans.
