So I went to Lynah to pick up my skates this afternoon, and there was a women's hockey game going on. Didn't see it on the schedule the last time I checked. It was an exhibition against a university team from Canada.
When I got there it was 1-1 with about 15 minutes left in the third. Aurora scored with less than 10 minutes left, and Cornell answered to even it up at around the 5 minute mark (I didn't note the times of the goals, so I could be wrong). Cornell had a power play at the end of regulation, and 7 seconds of 5X3 early in OT, but couldn't capitalize.
Aurora was actually pretty impressive, although it's possible that they played the game of their lives. Cornell didn't look awful, but didn't look great either. The passing looked better than it did last year, as did the special teams and the breakout.
The women's first game that counts is on the road November 7-8 (Yale/Princeton). The first home game is Friday night, Novemeber 15th, against UVM.
