I am considering taking a trip up to Dartmouth on Saturday the 16th for the away game-- not to look ahead too much, but it looks like that's the one we have to win, and we have had some trouble doing so at home, so I figured the extra fan support would help. Anyway, my question is- do we get alot of travelling fans to non-Harvard away games, or am I going to be targeted for death by the Big Jealous for my taunting jeers? In addition, how does one go about getting tickets in the visitor's section? The D-mouth athletic site online has an option to buy tickets online, but I think that would place me in te midst of their fanbase, which might not be the smartest idea for someone with a Bâby jersey on. Thanks.

My schedule says Dartmouth is on Friday the 15th. Were it actually on Saturday, I might be talked into a one off straight shot up I-91 and back to see the game....

Yeah, the Daily Sun mixed 'em up, Friday isn't such a viable option I guess. Thanks.

To answer your questions anyway (even though I understand you may not be able to make the Friday game), the best way to ensure getting a ticket in the Cornell section is to call the Cornell ticket office. If you don't live in Ithaca, you can order tickets over the phone. They will mail the tickets to you or, if necessary, have them held for you at will-call at the rink.

With respect to fan support at away games, it varies quite a bit. I'd say Harvard gets the best turnout, but there are usually quite a few Cornell fans at Brown, Yale, RPI, and (I think) Princeton. The worst turnout I can recall was at Vermont several years ago, when it seemed like there were 6 Cornell fans in a sea of green.

Dartmouth is actually an interesting case. Historically, the Dartmouth hockey team doesn't draw squat and a moderate number of Cornell fans generally show up. We can usually dominate the lame crowd (and you have to yell a lot or risk freezing to death), but sometimes we have had to endure taunting and/or criticism from obnoxious children and the elderly. However, attendance at Dartmouth games has been increasing in the last few years and I've heard that they're doing pretty well this year, so it could be a whole new ball game.

I'll be at the Dartmouth game - and the following night I'll be at my first hockey game at Gutterson (can't believe it took me fifteen years to get there...).

Feel better, Beeeej. I still haven't seen us win at Cheel.

For the record, the band will be at both games so that's about 45 more fans.
