More competition for Doug - Dan is playing w/ CLeveland at the moment.
"San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has signed forward Devin Setoguchi and defenseman Dan Spang to NHL contracts. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
...
Spang had a breakout senior season for Boston University, leading all Hockey East defensemen and finishing T-18th among all Hockey East skaters with 31 points (nine goals, 22 assists) in 40 games. He finished T-fourth on his team in scoring and helped lead BU to the Hockey East Championship, a 2-1 overtime win against Boston College.
...
For his efforts, Spang was selected as a First Team All-American, Hockey East First Team All-Star, was runner-up for the league’s Best Defensive Defenseman and earned spots on the Hockey East All-Tournament Team and the Division I All-New England Team.
He did not miss a game since the end of his rookie season, playing in the final 124-straight contests for BU.
The 210-pound, six-foot defenseman was selected by San Jose in the second round (52nd overall) of the NHL Entry Draft."

Don't worry about Spang, Doug is light year's better than he is.
The fact that Spang is an All-American is straight up scary. The kid's ok but he's not an All American by any stretch. You'd know why he got this if you've been reading papers recently, where at every chance Jack Parker would blurb out "Spang is a sure All-American."
