Hello, Just found this message board. Just wanted to post and say I have seen David at the Coyotes strength and conditioning camp this summer. He seems like a very focused guy. Wayne Gretzky has been participating in all the on-ice workout drills, so David will be able to say he stopped a Wayne Gretzky shot! All of the players at the camp (about 25 prospects in all) are in really good shape. David is in great shape heading into the Canadian National Junior team development camp in August. He should be in the best shape of his life by the time you guys see him and extremely motivated. I don't think Cornell has anything to worry about in terms of the Coyotes asking David to play major junior or going pro. If he goes to Vancouver, that will be his decision. Coyotes VP Cliff Fletcher said at the draft that they selected 6 players that be in college next year and they want them to develop there. You are probably saying, what about BC's Krys Kolanos or Minnesota's Jeff Taffe? Well, all I can say is those guys really wanted to come out. They said they had nothing left to prove at the college level and the Coyotes agreed. So, when you guys win the national championship next year, look out
I'd appreciate any opinions about David. Thanks
PS- How do you pronounce his last name?

From what I have heard, David has not been at the Phoenix training and conditioning camp as he has been in Philly. You may have seen another young goalie, Jeff Pietrasiak G 6-1' 180 New Hampshire Wildcats (HE), who was drafted this year in the sixth round.
I think there is very little chance of David leaving University to attend Major Junior. I understand that he has turned down all offers to play Junior as he would like to earn a Degree in Business.
By the way, David is, by all indications, very focused and motivated and I am sure that he will in his best physical condition when he attends the World Junior Camp in Halifax next month.
"Le Nev you" Accent on second syllable.

I've heard most (including announcers) pronounce it with emphasis on the first syllable. Occasional pronounciation with emphasis on the 3rd.
But never have I heard it pronounced it with "nev" accented.
I belive LEN-i-view would be more appropriate?

Thanks for the reply. You might be right in it was Jeff Pietrasiak I saw. But the local paper did indicate he was here in late June. The story was about how a few of the college guys (LeNeveu, Joe Callahan, Matt Jones) payed their way here. Sorry, don't have a link, it was in the print version. The camp started on June 24th I believe. Anyway, do you know what he is doing in Philly?

College players have to pay their own way because of NCAA rules. I believe David is in Philly training with some other goalie prospects eg: Blake Ward, Todd Ford and other players as well.
