Largest difference I can recall between the polls.

Edit: oh, never mind, it's INCH. I'd expect USAToday to be in the 11-13 range.

Maybe now we can get the bullseye off our back.

As far as I can tell, the USA Today rankings aren't out yet. I think the INCH rankings are a little extreme. I find it hard to believe that Cornell should drop below ALL the other ranked ECACHL teams (particularly Clarkson since we haven't really played anyone of consequence yet).

I always take the INCH "Power Rankings" to be more of a subjective measure of team momentum...whatever that means.

On the other hand, why would the USCHO poll have us above

screwy

We're above Colgate because we were ranked #5 last week and they were #17. It means that the voters had higher expectations for us than they had for the guys from hamilton. It's November - expectations still have a lot to do with poll rankings. Rightly so, because there's lots of time to play up to expectations.

Let's see how many times we can say expectations in a paragraph. :-P

[q]Let's see how many times we can say expectations in a paragraph. [/q]I'm an engineer. Rules against reuse don't apply in technical writing. Or at least that's what I tell myself. :-P

Edit: It's all a question of expectations. :-D

I miss the ranking of the top 10 collegiate hockey teams. Lets face it - this is not basketball where there are a million programs. I put a fair amount of faith in their ability to rank the top 10 teams...when you get to the 15 and 20 top programs in hockey you are getting to the middle-of-the-road teams in the college hockey landscape and lots more subjectivity...not to mention the mediocrity of the "bubble" teams at that point. CU was clearly expected to be a top 10 team and they clearly are not at this point - though the team could certainly get there.

I second the idea that top 20 is ridiculous.
