If anybody is in the Boston area on Friday morning/afternoon and wants to poster Harvard's campus with some select anti-Crimson hockely slogans... we should make some plans.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

That's actually why the Harvard game doesn't really mean any more to me than any other ECAC game does. A rivalry is just like any other kind of relationship, folks -- you gotta have two to tango. Where would the Sox be without the Yanks? Where would Duke be without UNC? (Where would cats be without dogs? Where would Dubya be without basic common sense? The list goes on and on...)

It's a little embarrassing to make such a big deal out of the rivalry when the supposed rivals themselves don't return the sentiment.

While I'm at it, referring to them as "Sucks" is lame and unimaginative. We can do better than that. "Hahvahd" is perfectly serviceable option.

Wow, to paraphrase Oddball, just "too many negative waves" in that post.

It's not embarrassing. It's long-standing tradition. Cornell students have been making "a big deal" about the Harvard game for nearly four decades now, and that alone makes it something worth maintaining, regardless of the lack of reciprocity. One of my favorite things about hockey at Cornell is the pervasive respect for tradition, in everything from the obligation of freshmen players to research previous Cornellians who've worn their jersey number to the longevity of Lynah Faithful chants that were born in the 1960s. I hope the Harvard game's singularity for Cornell folks will stick around forever, even if Harvard's indifference increases.

The less Sucks fans, if there are any, that are interested in this game, the more room in Lynah East for Cornell fans.

Maybe, but they'd still suck.
