When the Big Red came back on the ice in the second period, they came back for payback and vengence ! ! ! And NOT to play HOCKEY ! ! !
And so went the game ! ! !
And so went the win ! ! !
If I were an opposing coach I would use that as a tactic to throw the Big Red out of their game plan from now on ! ! !
GET THE MESSAGE ! ! !
LET'S PLAY HOCKEY AND NOT " PAYBACK" ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Did I see a different game??? I saw a Cornell team that was hell-bent on coming back to win. And, they came within a bounce of the puck, several times, from accomplishing it. I'm disappointed with the second period collapse and the loss. But, I'm very proud of the way they rallied in the third period. They could have "folded" and didn't.

Agreed. I loved the effort showed in the 3rd period. If the team can play at that level consistently it should be a fun season to watch. It was a tale of huge shifts in momentum: Cornell seemed to carry the first period, hustle-wise, though they were very sloppy fundamentally (poor skating, horrible passing), and those wasted PP opportunities came back to haunt the team in the second period. The second period was totally dominated by MSU and Cornell seemed tired and slow. The SH goal really seemed to energize MSU and seemed to put Cornell in a daze. It was very difficult watching Cornell get out-worked at home, and State's 17 shots in the period were the reward and the difference. Hopefully the third period showed the team what they're capable of becoming this year. They just seemed to pick up steam as the period wore on.

Umm, yeah, about that... I'm sorry. We just played sloppily in the 2nd. We had vengeance in the 3rd, especially after Pegs got nailed. That's why we managed to shoot relentlessly at J.Lerg over and over again; we were playing payback hockey. What game were you watching?

Hi ,
I think we have a great team. And I wanted to head down out of the stands and "Kick Ass " myself . The 3rd period come back was accomplished by the team I have grown to know, love and appreciate .
The reason for my first post was say let keep our heads in the hockey game .
Cold Calculated and professional ! ! ! A LOSS hurts much more and lasts all season long . A bloodied lip heals quickly ! ! !
If Hockey were won by Bullies and Goons why practice ! ! ! Just slug the other team into submission ........ just like MS tried ......................................

your last line says it all if MS did try to slug us into submission than you first post doesn't make since. they should have been called for all of it, therefore we would have had the powerplays. I maybe wrong but good solid hitting is a part of hockey intergral to Cornell's approach. So now if your big and strong and can hit hard you get penalized for it which one is it payback or good hockey?
