No surprise there. I assume Montoya is headed for Hartford?

Most likely. Kevin Weekes will probably be resigned, and either LaBarbera or Holmqvist will likely get the other spot. Holmqvist is the top prospect at this point.

Top prospect at the goaltending position you mean? Fedor Tjutin is the Rangers' top prospect and will be an awesome defenseman very soon. Also, don't forget that Dan Blackburn is still in the goaltending miz for the Rangers despite his shoulder problems.

... Although he now has the issue of two blockers and no glove due to his shoulder injury. He still looks to be a "good" goalie but it accounts I've read say it's unlikely he will return to his pre-injury form.

Whatever happened to the red-headed Union goalie that was drafted by the Rangers? I remember that he was good, but the rest of the Union squad was not. The result was a nightly pelting.

I'm pretty sure that Snee never got a contract offer from the Rangers...he's been bouncing around the low minors for the past couple of seasons....according to hockeydb, he was last in the WHA2.

LaBarbera is gone as he signed with the Kings today. So unless they sign a goalie (Khabibulin, CuJo, etc.) Weekes'll probably be the starter with Holmqvist taking back-up duties (they just signed him). Montoya will proabably start at Hartford and be backed up by Valiquette.
