SEE THE NEW POSTING BELOW re: Sunday 3/27/05
Just want to thank Rana Glasgal '87 for arranging a last-minute viewing party at the Ice Oasis in Redwood City where she plays ice hockey. Alex, Ron, Rich, my wife Rebecca, and I joined Rana and her husband Bruce for the Harvard-Cornell game, watching it on the big screen in the club house upstairs. It was awesome to be part of the "live action;" we almost felt like we were in Albany, as the TV cameras showed again and again a sea of red and Cornell jerseys in the stands. Rana and I both had our CU hockey jerseys on (mine has #6 and Murray on the back; hers has Murray's augtograph in the front!).
3-1 in favor of our beloved Cornell. Can't wait to write a gloating e-mail to my former boss at Harvard Now on to the NCAA!

Rana is doing it again! She rocks. To the extent possible she has confirmed that they have the corrrect sports package. Here is her message of invitation for the Ohio State game [which is actually to be in Redwood City not Palo Alto]:
Hello hockey fans,
Here's the plan to watch the game at the Ice Oasis in Redwood City... The rink gets Altitude Sports Network via a satellite package and they are more than happy to put it on the big screen tv in the restaurant overlooking the rink for us (they are especially happy if we order food & beverages). The game is at 3pm.
The Ice Oasis restaurant is members-only, and you have to have a key card to get in, so please try to arrive in the lobby of the rink by 3 so I can round you up and take you upstairs to the restaurant. I'll come down and get any Cornell fans that come by during the game (call me on my cell when you're in the lobby). The restaurant has good food and beer, wine, sodas, etc.
The Ice Oasis is at 3140 Bay Road, Redwood City. You get there by taking Marsh road (west) off of 101, go rt at the 3rd light (at Marsh Manor shopping center), and the Ice Oasis is on your left past the first stop sign and the 7-11.
Feel free to pass this along to other Cornell hockey fans and I hope to see you Saturday to cheer on the Big Red! My cell # is [I don't want to post her phone number but you can call Roy at 650-279-5003] if you have problems. Email me if you have any questions [Rana Glasgal <ranaglasgal@netscape.net>]..
Go Big Red!

PS. I have a league game at 4:20 at the Ice Oasis, so I'll be leaving partway through the game and re-joining you later, hopefully before the end.

Here is the information you'd need if you'd like to join us for the game on Sunday as Cornell takes on the Minnesota for the NCAA Western Regional final.
Folks,
The Ice Oasis is kindly accommodating us tomorrow by opening a half-hour
early at 12:30. The restaurant itself is closed for Easter, so there
won't be food and beverages available, but we can bring our own, so feel
free to bring sodas, beer, chips, whatever. I'll be bringing about a
dozen muffins leftover from the baby shower brunch I had today and will
be very appreciative if you'll help me finish them!
Again, you can call me on my cell if you can't get in. 650-906-4960.
Sorry I was late today (who knew it took over an hour to open baby
gifts??) so thank you to those who forged ahead and got the tv going
without me.
Go Big Red!
