OT: Jon Stewart and other Cornell Lines

Hey,
I figured I'd see if there were any other faithful out there today in the line for Jon Stewart tickets. Looked eerily familiar to the hockey line for last season when it went all the way around the practice field. This one went from Willard Straight to the quad past McGraw Hall. At least that's how far it was at 9am when tickets went on sale. I heard people camped out starting around 9pm last night. If anyone wants to share their experience about this line or any other ones they've had at Cornell....

I remember a pretty serious line when Adam Sandler did a college tour in 1997 or so. I don't know that anyone camped out but we got to WSH around 7am, found an already long line, and didn't get our tickets until 1pm or so. We did wind up getting tickets but they were up in the balcony in Bailey. If we had been a half hour later we would've probably been shut out.

Funny, they let you camp outside in line for stewart, but not for cu hockey tix...

Got there at 5am (THAT was fun...). There were approximately 120 people already in front of me in the line, most of whom were in tents sleeping. At about 7:15am, they moved the first 100 people inside Willard Straight, but unfortunately, I missed this cutoff by a few people. It was very cold outside, and we finally got inside at around 9:20am, after waiting for over 4 hours, and had our tickets in hand by about 9:50am. The line seemed to be moving pretty slowly because, for the reserved seating, each person had to select his or her exact seat(s) on the seating chart. Overall, it wasn't too bad, and since it was only 4-5 hours long, it was nothing compared to the hockey line.

They let people pick exact seats for Jon Stewart? I can see the logic for season hockey tickets (15 games, different places people like to sit), but for this kind of show? Just pass out seats in "best available" order., maybe allowing some crude distinctions like left/right/center.... Whatever.

Students are paying $18 for general admission and $28 for reserved seats (edit: it's $18 and $20 for students). The public will pay $20 for general admission and $30 for reserved seats if there are any left (only a $2 difference!!!) (edit: it's $28 and $30 for the public). I'm guessing the reserved seats idea was the easiest way to charge higher prices for seats while maintaining a major block of "affordable seats" for the show. Jon Stewart doesn't come cheap any more; I gave him my money.

ah ha, that makes much more sense.

Just curious if any of you who were in the line have an extra general admission ticket for sale. I had my wisdom teeth out last week and have been in a drug induced state ever since, thus missing out on the line. (and also making it a good time to negotiate price with me ) I would appreciate it so so much and am willing to pay good money for it.

But the seats are still reserved (as in reffering to a single seat) even if you don't get to specificallychoose the seat from the seating chart. It's not like you get to choose when you order from Ticketmaster (well, at least in the evnues that havem't taken price discrimination to the extreme).
