I was at the game tonight and thought Lenny played as well as anyone could have asked. His team isn't as bad as their record would suggest ... just their defense. Keep in mind that Rochester is "so hot right now" and Utah just isn't ... well, anything close.

Of his three GA, the only one he should/could have had was the Vanek goal. He battled on the end boards (and of course won b/c Utah's defense sucks) .... wraped around from directly behind the net and beat Dave five-hole. He was as usual, in perfect position, he just didn't get his stick down in time. You could tell he was upset with this one b/c he paused after and looked to replay it as if to say, "I should have had that." His other two GAA were highlight reel goals: the first was a tic-tac-toe passing play that was burried through the back of the net and Lenny came arcoss the net so fast/hard he took the net off the moorings; the second one was a perfect 2-1 breakaway that ended up roofed over his sliding right pad. All-in-all it was a good game and I'm glad I got a chance to see him play. Not sure if I'll be there again on Sunday but I'll let y'all know what happens if i do go.

BTW ... Miller was for the most part solid but his one GA was a bit soft. Vanek OTOH was at the very least as impressive as he was when we saw him in Buffalo and I think it's safe to say last nights competition is a wee bit stiffer. He still looks like a potential NHL superstar (assuming we ever have another NHL) .

I'm guessing we've got four more hours in the Nominating Phase...

The leading vote getters for Cornell so far in order are McKee, Moulson, and Knoepfli (w/only 3 but its early). So vote daily damn it!!!!!

If, hypothetically, everybody voted 1. McKee, 2. Hynes, 3. Moulson (though personally I would reverse 3. and 2.), every day, is there really any chance that such a small contingent, no make any diference? To put it in perspective, when McKee had 74 votes in the first round, Sertich had about 600.

It doesn't hurt 'em that they only have four players on the list to split their votes amongst. We can be proud of having eight, but it may mean our votes get diluted. I'm not saying everybody has to or even should vote for three guys in particular, but it's certainly a danger that a vote for Topher puts McKee further out of the running.

It's also important to remember, though, that the fans' collective vote counts for one out of 59 votes for Hobey, so as exciting as it can be, it may not have much to do with anything. :-{)}

Just to clarify since he seems to be missed here and on USCHO (scout rankings), Pokulok also made it, as you noted in your standings post.

So Cornell had 9 players make it. Hooray!

The coolest thing about getting Cam Abbott into the second round is having a Cornell player on the top of the voting page!
