grad students in section B

The team looked really good against McGill. I am happy to be holding a season ticket again this year. However, I was very disappointed with the grad students in my section, mostly the ones I had to stand next to. Many of them did not cheer at all and barely clapped a few times when Cornell scored. I felt like I had one foot in section B and the other foot in a graveyard. I wish I had picked some other seats where I can be among the energetic faithfuls and not feel like I'm at a funeral. Anyone who shares or disputes my belief can discuss their opinion here in this topic.

Remember, we are called "Lynah Faithfuls" not "Lynah Standing Deads."

At least they were in sync with the cheers when they did clap. What I suspect were mostly newbies (grads and undergrads alike) surrounding me in the E-F-G end of the rink couldn't clap in sync with the cheers/songs at all to save their own lives. *sigh* Am I ever going to begin a season without these complaints? :-/

Were the kids in section B sitting with Evan Salmela and Kevin McLeod because the kid sitting next to me was about 15 and he was with them. Maybe he was friends with the players not crazy fans.

"one foot in the graveyard" at what age?

It amuses those past 30 how those approaching 25 or, gasp, 30, consider their life to be nearly over.

Not so. And proof in two words: Sigourney Weaver.

I assumed he meant that it was a 'graveyard' not because of age but due to lack of cheering. I could be wrong though - but I doubt it.

I do have to ad that being a 22 (gulp, old i know) year old graduate, and still being on campus after graduation, i sometimes feel old. Change of mentality perhaps?

To quote one of my favorite advisors over the years:
"The only problem with being 28 and stationed on a college campus is that it makes you a dirty old man at a very young age"

How about being 35 and wishing you were still 28?

I'll be finishing up grad school at 35 and I don't think that makes me look bad at all... though of course I didn't go back 'til I was 32. I've thoroughly enjoyed going to law school with 22-24 year olds - especially the Cornellians. :-D
