Shhhhhh. We need to keep expectations low. It's like stealth warfare.

Hmmm - let's see. INCH knocked us because we're going to miss Vesce's scoring? He had 26 points last year (10 G, 16 A), which was 11% of our offensive production of 230 points. However, 7 of Vesce's points came in that one game against Princeton, which, no offense to the Tigers, weren't exactly cruicial points on the season. Throwing out that game, Vesce had 19 points (7 G, 12 A) out of the remaining 210 scored on the season - only 9%, and only .65 ppg (IIRC, the only games he missed were the last two Clarkson games, right?).
We'll definitely miss his leadership and his faceoff ability, but from a pure scoring standpoint, he wasn't exactly carrying the offense on his back.

Where'd you see 16 assists? I've got him at 10G 14A for the year and 27 total games played, with 228 total team points:

I closed THN as soon as I saw Clarkson #9 nationally. As I was closing it, I saw Dartmouth towards the top so I had to reopen, only to find that they are actually #3. What a joke.
It's so hard to put any merit into any of these rankings, whether Cornell is ranked well or not, because none of the guy that make these rankings has seen 75% of the teams in the NCAA play even once.

Is there a link to the THN rankings, or is it subscription only?

The ECAC is WIDE open this year. Among Dartmouth, Clarkson, Sucks, Toothpaste and Cornell I think it is up for grabs. However, people are raving about Clarksons incoming class.

I don't think you can get it online. You'd have to buy it. I don't think they have it at Wegman's anymore but they definitely still have it at Mayor's.

While I agree that I think Clarkson will be back near the top of the rankings this year, does anyone else agree with me that Colgate will likely return to the middle of the pack this year with the return of Don Vaughan? I don't know, I see last year's "success" (if one can call having the privilege of being the ECAC's first regular season winner under 30 points in several years [somebody help me here] a success) as a fluke attributable to a combination of a weaker overall ECAC and possibly Stan Moore actually being better in charge than as an assistant (or at least Moore being a better coach than Vaughan, who by my count has only had one really good season during his tenure at Colgate and a W-L-T record just barely over .500). I apologize for that run-on sentence.

Perhaps you mean Clarkson's incoming students. Or to be safer, players. "Class"?

Dartmouth outscored their opponents by a grand total of five goals last season, they could easily have been a .500 team. there's no way I can see them number three in the country. Clarkson similarly was outscored by ten goals in ECAC play, just getting even this year would be a significant improvement.
I think a lot of people are unduly dazzled by NHL draft picks on a team.

Well, it has won Harvard two of the last 3 ECAC tournaments. (*vomit*)

But, they are playing games while the Ivies, (that's us) sit because of antiquated rules that apparently the Ivy presidents will not change. All of the rest of Div 1 starts their schedule of games now and play 34 in total. So what's up with that

The more ECAC teams in the polls, the better. A rising tide, and all that.

Relax, it was an exhibition game and Tech not only had not yet had a single practice but also did not dress quite a few of their top players.
