Nighman: Will NOT Recognize Unofficial Assembly

He said it in the Sun this morning and again in an email to me. He seems insistent that no unofficial preline begins. They will carry out the procedure on their terms as planned. I should point out that he said something similar last year, although last year he did not have a mechanism or procedure that could effectively combat an unofficial preline. The key is that the location and time do not get leaked like they did last night. If they don't get leaked, he sends out the email and hands out numbers first come first serve. If it does get leaked and people line up prior to the official announcement like last night, then Nighman indicates that numbers will not be distributed because "that (distributing numbers) would be rewarding students for not following the plan we released" (his words exactly).
