just curious when they officially went d1???? not sure where I was when this was announced. I heard from the aunt of a kid who will be going to another ivy league place (he wanted cornell but they were happy with their goalies, i was told, so stopped going after him as much) that they were telling their recruits that they were going d1. i said "hmm, havent heard anything about robert morris going d1." I look on the cha and robert morris web sites and there they are! then on uscho and they are listed as being in the cha but i never saw a headline. so strange. anyone able to cure my confusion?
thanks
all i could find were these
[www.uscho.com] December 10, 2002 Robert Morris Considers Adding Hockey
[www.uscho.com] April 27, 2004 Robert Morris Women Accepted Into CHA
in the article from april 27 it mentions that robert morris men were already added.
thanks

Robert Morris was added to the CHA this year to replace the departing (and disbanding) Findlay. Their move to D1 got a little bit a press this year, particularly when they rode to the rescue of the CHA (if you recall, the league needed a 5th member to keep it's tourney autobid). Actually, this will be RMU's first year playing hockey, not just being in D1 (per a news story on their web site: "RMU announces Inaugural Schedule".

Great line from the first of the two USCHO stories, quoting the university president. They don't have a gender problem and they have a way to avoid the problem they don't have:
>>> Robert Morris president Ed Nicholson told the newspaper the school does not have a gender equity problem and could avoid one by offering more women's sports.
This is also odd: The college is Robert _____, but the president is Ed __________, not Edward. Seems imbalanced. An Ed _____ belongs at, say, Bob Jones University.

If anyone out there in the Pittsburgh area wants to catch a couple games -- let me know...
The Island Sports center ain't Lynah, but until CSTV gets picked up here it'll have to do.
