Vesce played there during the lockout season. Is there a Cornell-Rogle conduit?
The fact that he's only 35 makes me feel less old than I was expecting.
The episode included a couple of conversations with Douglas Murray. The tank they built included a lot of replica hockey gear, including a mask and one of Doug's hockey sticks.

Agreed. Great article.
It'll be interesting if he plays Sunday against the Flyers. Quite a few of the Flyers players skated with him on the LV Phantoms.

Congrats to Cole Bardreau on his first NHL point, a nice assist, in the Islanders' win over Philly:

Shame it happened against the Flyers, but he deserves it. And such a Bardreau play...hustle, hustle, hustle.
Van Massenhoven felt that same bond among his NHL family, too, the league often seeming to be just as close-knit a community. The veteran official saw it during that same injury stint in Florida.
“I’m in the hospital the next day in intensive care — I just had an 11-hour surgery. I open up my eyes and there’s Joe Nieuwendyk, who played for the Florida Panthers. He had come to the hospital to visit me the next day. I can’t tell you how emotional that made me feel, because he took the time out of his day,” Van Massenhoven says.
“The funny part is he brought in a box of donuts, and I’m lying in intensive care. I barely can see, and I go, ‘Joe, I don’t think I can eat any donuts.’ He says, ‘Well, that’s okay, my kids ate half of them already.’”

Donuts would have been an appropriate gift for Don Koharski.
Type Cornell in the sports collectables category and they have a batch of cards of players on the 93-94 team. Vinnie Auger!

Maybe because Craig's OT GWG was so memorably gorgeous? (and because Jillson's penalty shot as usual didn't go in?)

Probably right on both counts. Our OT goal was terrific.
He was up because the Isles went through a slew of injuries to forwards (while winning TEN IN A FUCKING ROW). Hopefully he'll tear it up down there and get promoted again down the line.nshapiro

16 Ivies Compete In NHL First Half
Sixteen former Ivy League men’s ice hockey players have competed in National Hockey League (NHL) games during the 2019-20 campaign. The 16 Ivies have accumulated 74 goals, 115 assists and 189 points in 527 NHL games this season.
Five of the Ivy League’s six participating institutions have been represented—with Harvard pacing all Ivy League programs with eight former student-athletes making appearances ahead of the NHL All-Star Break.

Cole Bardreau recalled by Isles and playing in place of injured Casey Cizikas.
That's great for Cole, but a bummer for me. I was thinking about going to the Phantoms - Sound-Tigers game tomorrow night to watch his return to Allentown.
Edit: I went. No Bardreau, of course, but Kubiak started for Bridgeport and had a decent game. Willcox was his usual steady self for LV.
Nash was +1 but the Blue Jackets lost in a shootout.

Of course, the Penguins sent Angello down and waived another guy (the similarly named Andrew Agozzino) to trade for a bunch of older guys and scrubs. Then they lose six straight, because every time they bring in old guys at the deadline, it backfires.

My issue with the PLL (and maybe it's because I'm old) is that there are no geographic ties to the teams, so I have a hard time establishing a rooting interest in, say, the "Whipsnakes". Just doesn't cut it for me.
