Glad I'm saving the $8-24 bucks.

More offensive opportunities for the Red on the PP. but sounds like a good save by RPI goalie on Gallagher.

Hypothetically speaking, what would happen if brown wins tonight and 3 more? Would they actually get the NCAA autobid, or would they be excluded by the .500 rule? I can't remember if that only applies to at large bids or not.

Bad in what way? The reputation of the league if the top seed lost or in how many ECAC teams make the tournament? I think Yale could still make the NCAA tournament if they were swept. Without considering other games it would drop them to 12.

Number of teams. I haven't run the scripts but I bet Yale drops out if they lose two to Brown. I could be wrong.

Good: Our defense holding up well.

Not so Good: We have not solved RPI goalie York. I'm not real comfortable with RPI hanging in this game.

It sounds like we had better chances in the 1st period than in the 2nd.

The fear of playoff hockey, running into a goalie that gets in the zone and stops everything thrown at him. worry

btw, SCSU @ Minn just underway, 0-0.

Keep an eye on New Hampshire because if they get swept they drop below Cornell. I think they make the NCAA tournament regardless. Also Ohio State are Colorado College are bubble teams. Their results are impact any ECAC team that ends up in the 12 to 14 area of the PWR - and one team is likely to be there after next week. And of course, we want Denver to sweep Anchorage because it kicks Minnesota out of the tournament by dropping AA from TUC.

RPI scores. 2:36 left in the 3rd period.

Opps, 2:46. We need those extra 10 seconds.

Scrivens should be looking at the bench from the inside right now... good god.

I didn't know it was physically possible, but this both sucks and blows.

So, I have to get up to answer the door, only to come back to hear the RPI score. Oy! worry

Uh, I think that would have only been a concern if we actually had a lead at the time cry

it wasnt a bad effort, just no goals. you have to get one PP goal out of all the puck control we had on it and how many times are we standing in front of the net to get tackled or miss the shot. we had about 3x as many quality chance and nothing to show for it.

I would think it a much bigger concern since we didn't have a lead at the time.

I am blown away with how many late game let downs there have been in the second half. Just because we could see this coming after two periods doesn't make it right. bang

Well we'll see what this team is made of tomorrow. I don't know what the PWR implications of this are, but I'm guessing they have nothing to fall back on right now, at least nothing very sturdy.

Yeah, that didn't come out right. What I meant was whether Scrivens' got a shutout was the least of my concerns, although of course if he had his shutout we'd at least still be playing.

To make matters worse, my RedCast crapped out at the faceoff with 28 seconds left in the game.

Please tell me that we tied it up and we are now in OT.

Huh? In 2004, Cornell clobbered Clarkson in Game 1.

I also like how you've folded up your tent in a best-of-three after 1 game.

I just replayed Jason's call of the RPI goal, but it wasn't too descriptive other than went high glove side. Was Scriven's screened at all? Was it poor (no) reaction to the shot?

That I'll buy. 1-0 OT win by QU. Shots were pretty even in that one 24-23 Q.

Sorry to be non-specific: I was simply referring to the prospect of losing in the quarterfinals, a feeling that is never good. As Chris said, 2007 is another good example.

I also like how you've folded up your tent in a best-of-three after 1 game.
I haven't folded it up yet, but it doesn't signal good things when you lose to a bottom-feeder like RPI.

Does anyone know anything about this "save" from where I was sitting i clearly saw the puck past York sitting in the goal. Had the whistle already blown? How was that not a goal?!

On the other hand, if you have to go down a game in a best of three to someone you'd rather it be a bottom feeder. There's no reason to think Cornell can't come back and win two in a row against RPI.
