So much for a non-league shutout. Scoring from his knees no less.

Sacred Heart announcers mentioned that the plan against Davenport was going to be to shoot high. First goal was a high shot, just like the four Maine scored on Troy last weekend.

Does it seem as if the video camera is mounted lower than usual? We're seeing a lot more heads and the press box table.

Period ends 1-0. Each team 0x1 on pp. Cornell does indeed leave the ice via the new, center ice, walkway.

How does crowd size look to those with video? Game is officially a sellout.

I think it looks full, but the press box is oddly sparse.

Cornell doing a good job keeping the puck in the SH end, but no shots.

Shots in the second were 9-6 Cornell, but I think they controlled the play more than that. SHU had the only pp and Cornell killed it, although SHU hit the post. On the other side, Sawada hit the crossbar. SHU doesn't suck. Cornell needs to earn this, it won't happen on automatic.

SHU has substantial edge in play this period, IMO. Really disappointing we aren't raising our game. I hope the UHN game didn't go to our collective head.

We're controlling play and looking good except on the scoreboard. We seem to play below our abilities with teams we should tear apart.

Chris Fontas just misses wide with 3:30 left -- That would've gotten him back in the lineup next week.

Shades of UNH in NCAAs. Nash goes off for tripping with 1:46 left. "This is going to really hurt Cornell," the announcers note. Only positive, when Davenport comes out, Cornell can't get called for icing. Small consolation.

Great flurry for the Red, but couldn't quite put the puck in. Nash's penalty follows a great defensive play and puts us down a man with 1:46 left.

It's too early to tell if he will play again this season. He didn't play in Florida, either, to make room for Glover's return to the lineup. What that means is that he's currently the 7th defenseman on the team, and only 6 suit up for a game. The chances are pretty good that Salmela will play again this season, since another defenseman is likely to get injured or to fall into Schafer's doghouse before the season is over.

Actually, all the glass is higher than it was before (and now, as noted, all the same height). Even the end glass was raised (maybe 8 inches or a foot). Our "old" seats were row five behind the goal...which put us looking right through the glass/net interface. Now you have to sit in row 7 or 8 to be forced to look through that interface. We are in row 2 nowadays, so moot point for us.

McLeod played very well for somebody in his first NCAA game at D. Glover will be back. Taylor Davenport seems to improve every night. Salmela may simply not have developed sufficiently in Schafer's eyes to warrant PT.
