So could anyone manage to get the harvard audio feed to work? I'm working with a mac here in Cornell's crappy computer lab in Rome with window's media player installed, yet I here nothing but painful, uninforming silence. I guess I'm just doomed to hear nothing about hokcey live this semester. It sounds like things have been kinda shakey, someone with an audio feed throw in a few opinions on game play, thanks. (I hate Mooron, and no one wants to do you Dov)

I get it on a Netscape/Win98 machine. WHRB site says somewhere you need Internet Explorer with a Mac.

WHRB works for me, but it wouldn't under Netscape - had to go to IE. I'm on XP Pro. Make sure you click the "on air" link on the small player window

We are listening to the Harvard announcers, so there is some bias.

Cornell definitely sounds like they're dominating the physical portion of the game as they usually do. Shots were 8-6 Cornell in the 1st period. Harvard did have some chances on a PP in the 2nd period (and ended Cornell's perfect penalty kill in the ECAC on Moore's goal in the 1st). The crowd is quite noisy (as always!). Lots of Oohs and Aaahs on close shots.

I'm running IE 6.0 on XP Home. The audio starts out silent for a bit, before playing an advertisement and then segwaying into the game.

Still 2-1 CU. Halfway in the 2nd.

A K-S - I was having a problem where the buffer was stuck at 0%. Through the media player help, I found the following procedure, which worked for me. I hope it helps:

Player hangs at "Buffering 0:00"

We've found that some transport methods for the streams work better than others in certain conditions.

We suggest that you follow the directions below to specify the HTTP and TCP transport methods in your Windows Media Player. This seems to be the best method for transporting the streams you want to connect to. Please follow these directions very carefully so you don't inadvertently change a setting that will affect the usefulness of your player. This change will not affect the performance of any other media that you want to play, so once the change is complete, you do not need to adjust it again. To change the transport method in Windows Media Player:

1. Launch C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe (you need to edit this version of the player no matter which version you use for other streaming.)

2. Click the word 'View' in the top toolbar of the player.

3. Click the word 'Options' from the drop-down menu.

4. Click the 'Advanced' tab in the Options window.

5. Highlight the choice 'Streaming Media (Windows Media)'. This choice is most likely already highlighted.

6. Click the change button.

7. In the protocols window you want to make sure that ONLY the HTTP and TCP boxes are selected. Deselect the others if they are selected and do not change the Proxy settings.

8. Click the 'Apply' button at the bottom of the Window.

9. Click 'OK' in that Window to close it, and then click 'OK' again in the Options window to close that too.

10. The change in transport types is now complete.

Kolarik scores on a PP to make it 3-2. Taking a penalty seconds after going up by two is not bright. Six minutes to go in the second.

Cornell mounts a furious attack in the last couple of minutes of period 2 and scores twice.

Harvard dominating on special teams. Both of their goals scored on the PP. They have shut down the Cornell PP. Cornell is having trouble getting set up in the offensive zone.

Cornell scores all 5 goals at even strength!!!!

Nice, complete victory of Good over Evil. With Brown losing, Cornell is again tied for first in pts (8) and alone in first in pct (.800). The top 5 teams in the ECAC are now all Ivy (Cor-Brn-Hvd-Drt-Yal).

Good job, guys. Don't let up against Brown tomorrow night.

Bemidji State 2, Clarkson 1 in Cheel. I can hear the complaints at the end of the year that the conference "doesn't get any respect." If things keep going like this, we won't have any right to complain.

A couple of wins over the Terriers will certainly separate us from the ECAC pack in the minds of the rest of the country.

Hell, I might even bring myself to root for Dartmouth (against BC) this Tuesday if it'd get people to give the ECAC some respect. uhoh

This season the ECAC has a chance of having a few quasi-big teams nationally. Besides us and Hahvahd (still sucks) - Brown, Yale, and Dartmouth all seem to have chances at making a respectable runs at a damn good season.

Still though, it'll take some serious NCAA tourney (and even Frozen Four) appearances by the ECAC before anything changes in national opinion - and I just don't think this conference has it in them. Can you see three teams in the tournament - even considering it's 16 teams? I can't.

I can see three if a darkhorse wins at Albany, so screw that.

BTW, a post-game scoring change gave Doug Murray his first goal of the season (taking away Palahicky's first -- I guess Shane didn't tip Doug's heavy blast after all).

That's real strange. It was clear to me that Shane did tip that shot into the net. It sounds like they just decided that the big guy needed a goal to get him going.

Well true, and screw that indeed.

Though I just took a new peak at JTW's PWRs, and, in what is the perhaps biggest abuses of the phrase ever... IF the season were to end today...

Cornell is 2nd in PWR, Dartmouth is 11, and Harvard is 12, and Yale is 16 (and Brown is 19), so excluding *more than 4* darkhorses, we'd have 3 teams in the NCAAs. With none we'd have 4! (not possible since no CHA team is even a TUC right now) Obviously things can (and almost certainly will) change, but maybe it's not as ridiculous as I thought.
